The paper presents possibilities of visual assessment of archaeological potential, i.e. archaeological valorization, of southern part of Ribniška Mala gora karstic area. In archaeological literature, the study area is known only for two
archaeological sites in caves Lisičja jama (Iron Age) and Koblarska jama (roughly late Copper and early Bronze Age). Until now, remains of prehistoric settlements have not been identified on the surface. With field investigation of karstic surface and application

Archaeological sites distribution and its physical environmental settings between ca 260-2.2 ka BP in Guizhou, Southwest China
Archaeology ; Archeological site ; Carbon 13 ; China ; Guizhou ; Human occupation ; Isotope analysis ; Karst ; Neolithic ; Oxygen 18 ; Palaeo-environment ; Palaeolithic ; Soil properties ; Spatial distribution
This study presents an analysis of the spatial-temporal distribution of 230 archaeological sites in Guizhou Province, Southwest China for 3 selected time periods from the Paleolithic Age to the Shang-Zhou Dynasties. The relationship between
archaeological sites distribution and environmental changes is also discussed based on paleo-environmental proxies of δ18O and δ13C recorded in stalagmites from Southwest China. The results suggest that climate fluctuations had little impact on human settlements
in this study area. The distinct physical environment, especially the spatial patterns of karst landforms and arable land played an important role in the archaeological sites distribution of Guizhou.

Tephrostratigraphy of the Bedded Tuff Member (Kapthurin Formation, Kenya) and the nature of archaeological change in the later middle Pleistocene
The AA. emphasize here data from the Kapthurin Formation of Kenya and detail a stratigraphic framework for a succession of volcanic tephra and archaeological sites that provides the means to assess temporal change across the Acheulian Middle Stone
Chemical enrichment of soils at archaeological sites : some Oregon case studies
Soil samples from six sites were analyzed for pH and total P, Ca, Mg, K, Na, Fe, and Mn. P is the most widely used chemical indicator of prehistoric human occupancy of a site, but other elements help in interpreting specific archaeological features
features such as natural charcoal concentrations. Vertical profiles are chemically stratified at 10 cm levels, and stratification is closely related to archaeological features.
