The study aimed at finding a correspondence between the pros and cons of multidisciplinary instruction as described in literature and practical experiences of teachers. For this purpose, 1060 teachers of Bavarian extended elementary schools teaching
of the interviewed teachers. In contrast to this, advantages described in theoretical literature could hardly be confirmed. - (IfL)
The relation of self-directed and E learning can be described in these terms : as a consequence of the requirement for a more profound education the methods to support the teaching process have to be improved urgently. Teachers necessarily need
to respond to modified presuppositions. However, common guidelines for suitable arrangements concerning to the teacher-pupil interaction in self-directed learning processes in E learning periods are still missing. These topics are at the focus of interest
for geography teachers. Regarding the results of the empirical study it cannot be doubted at all, that E learning is not likely to replace traditional forms of (present) learning in the short of medium run. - (IfL)
be found. The article deals with the results of an international survey, which aim was to define the main preferences and obstacles, sensed by teachers and their pupils, from the viewpoint of different contents dealing with the space, teaching tools

Facing persistent stereotypes towards the continent of South America and its people in everyday teaching was the inspiration for repeating in 2002 two studies conducted by Kross in 1977 and 1989 about students' attitudes towards South America
. The present study in its comparison to former studies shows the ability of geographical teaching to reduce stereotypes and to help form objective attitudes to other continents and cultures. - (IfL)
