A. considers water deficiency to be the defining characteristic of the American West, and he thinks it starts with the Great Plains immediately to the west of the Missouri river in South Dakota. The Black Hill's physiography, biogeography
, settlement and gold mining days, and tourism and recreation are covered. He concludes that the Black Hills is increasingly finding an economic identity associated with the New West (tourism, recreation, and retirees). - (SLD)

Sequences and genesis of the Yellow River terraces from Sanmen Gorge to Kouma
Based on field landscape investigations, thermoluminescence (TL), magnetostratigraphy and loess-paleosol sequence, the AA. found that there are at least 4 Yellow River terraces in Yuxi Fault-Uplift (from Sanmen Gorge to Mengjin) and at least 3
Yellow River terraces in Huabei Fault Depression (from Mengjin to Kouma). All the terraces have a similar structure that several meters of paleosols directly develop on the top of fluvial silt. It shows that the Yellow River incised and consequently
abandoned floodplain converted to terrace during the interglacial period. Therefore, there may be a link between the formation of terraces and glacial-interglacial climatic cycles. However, the differences in the Yellow River terrace sequences and ages

The traditional data envelopment analysis (DEA), bootstrap-DEA and Malmquist models are employed to measure different tourism efficiencies and their spatial characteristics of 61 cities in six coastal urban agglomerations in eastern China since 2000
: Yangtze River Delta (YRD) and the Pearl River Delta (PRD),Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei (BTH) and the Shandong Peninsula (SDP). The measured values and spatial characteristics of the comprehensive efficiency (CE), pure technical efficiency (PTE), and scale
efficiency (SE)of urban tourism, since 2000, in these 6 urban agglomerations are presented and discussed.
Holocene loess and its deposition dynamics in the upper reaches of the Huaihe River
This paper aims to explore the pedogenic process, dust source, and transport dynamics of the loess-soil sequences in the upper reaches of the Huaihe River, based on comparison of the geographical setting, magnetic susceptibility, grain size between
the upper reaches of the Huaihe River and the Loess Plateau. The loess in the upper reaches of the Huaihe River was a wind blown deposition of near source, while the coarser dust mainly came from loose alluvial deposits of alluvial and proluvial fans
of the Yellow River. The yielding and carrying dynamics of the dust in the Huaihe River is the northeast wind prevails in the winter half year.
