Description :
In southern Ontario, thick glacial sediments cover the bedrock surface and conceal evidence of neotectonic activity. The topography of the buried bedrock surface has been mapped using new computerised depth-to-bedrock data. The AA. conducted a statistical study to analyse the spatial orientation of bedrock joints, modern river valleys and buried channels. An important factor in the geomorphic development has been the mid-continent stress field.
