Four windows on borderlands : dimensions of place defined by land cover change data from historical maps

Description :
Perceptions of land cover changes in four borderline areas of Prekmurje were determined by a set of historical maps with the goal of calculating changes and analysing stability of studied areas, both from land cover perspective. Map analysis was based on stability mapping and proportionating land cover categories, using time series cartography. Studied region seems stable, although over centuries inhabitants withdrew slightly from natural and political borders. As windows in the environmental psychology of borderland perception, each site revealed some localised feature. - (IKR)
