Changements de nature et de distribution spatiale des communautés de plantes dans la vallée moyenne de la Vistule, au cours de la deuxième moitié du 20ème siècle (exemple de l'élargissement de la rivière entre Annopol et Góra Kalwaria)

The work described here has sought to use cartographic methods to point out past-present differences in the nature and spatial distribution of plant communities in the Middle Vistula Valley, as well as to determine general directions to the environmental transformations taking place there over the 50-year period 1949-2001. The analysis mainly reveals changes of practice as regards agricultural land-use in the valley, most especially where these have involved grasslands. Changes in plant communities were further indicative of a lowering of the water table or else a change in the horizontal movement of water. Another important process signalled was the aggradation and overgrowth of river-channels and bodies of water. An overall anthropisation of the landscape was to be noted. - (BJ)
