Comparative analysis encompassed three original European scales of ecological indicator values arising in different geographical regions of Central Europe. To this end, use was made of the assemblage of vascular plant species characteristic for broadleaved forests of class Querco-Fagetea. Specifically, the analysis sought to determine the extent to which the three scales of ecological values arising in different parts of Central Europe are or are not in line with one another in the ecological diagnosis they can offer, in respect of six features of the geographical environment, of which three (light “L”, temperature “T” and continentality “K”) were in essence climatic features and three (humidity “F”, reaction “R” and nitrogen content “N”) related to the soil. - (BJ)
