Upscaling soil organic carbon estimates for the Usa Basin (Northeast European Russia) using GIS-based landcover and soil classification schemes

Description :
The AA. present surface (upper 30 cm) and total (excluding BC and C horizons) soil carbon content values for 20 landscape/vegetation classes and 25 soil classes recognized in the Usa Basin, Northeast European Russia, using 2 independent databases and 2 separate upscaling tools. Results are compared with previous estimates for taiga and tundra ecosystems. This research is part of the TUNDRA (TUNdra Degradation in the Russian Arctic) project that examines the role of Arctic feedback processes in the global climate system.
