A travel cost study of duck hunting in the Upper South East of South Australia
Australia ; Avifauna ; Cost-benefit analysis ; Environmental management ; Humid environment ; Hunting ; South Australia
Wetlands yield a range of values to their owners and to the wider community. One such value is that generated by duck hunting in the region. The non-monetary benefits received by duck hunters through their enjoyment of hunting in wetlands
are the primary focus of the paper. In order to estimate these values, a travel cost survey of duck hunters participating in an organised shoot was undertaken. The extent of the private recreation benefits is assessed in terms of their potential to stimulate

En 2010 la mine de charbon près de la rivière Pages a été formellement interdite d'exploitation à cause de ses impacts négatifs sur l'hydrologie et de ses effets induits probables sur une région d'élevage de pur-sang. On étudie comment des relations
Neotectonics and Quaternary geology of the Hunter Mountain fault zone and Saline Valley region, southeastern California
Aerial photography ; California ; Earthquake ; Fault ; Geomorphological mapping ; Geomorphology ; Landslide ; Neotectonics ; Quaternary ; Regional geology ; United States of America
The AA. present surficial geologic maps of 5 sections along the Hunter Mountain fault zone. The map observations are then used to place loose bounds on the paleoearthquake history and fault slip rate in late Quaternary time, as well as the role
Role of the sable fur trade in the economy of 17-th century Siberia on the basis of fur tribute and fur tithe returns from the region of most intensive hunting from the 1620s-1680s, when hunting by Russians was banned. He compares the dynamics
of sable hunting in Mangazeya and Yakutsk Counties and in Yeniseysk and Ilimsk Counties. The value of the fur catch was three to four times greater than that of the grain harvest, but fur trading was more rapacious and less long-lasting than farming.

were a secondary resource. The consistent pattern of hunting through time suggests that the impacts of climatic variability on Inuit subsistence in the Nain region were relatively limited, moderated by their capacity for mobility on the sea ice rather
subsistence economy. The site’s inhabitants practiced a very consistent mode of hunting throughout this time period, depending heavily on adult ringed seals taken on the fast ice in winter and spring. Juvenile ringed seals, taken at the ice edge in the spring
than by wholescale changes in hunting practices and species choice.

Les facteurs sociaux et environnementaux qui réglementent la chasse dans les savanes du Ghana ne sont pas assez connus. L'exemple de la région côtière dont l'environnement est dégradé permet de tester l'hypothèse que les dualités structure/acteur
Population change in the upper Braldu Valley, Baltistan, 1900-1990: all is not as it seems
Due mainly to high child mortality, population in the upper Braldu valley of the Karakoram range in northern Pakistan declined between 1900 and 1990. This trend is counter to the growth elsewhere in the Himalayan region. - (DWG)
Het Boven-Ieperiaan in de streek van Tielt en de omgeving van Gent. (The Upper Ypresian in the Tielt area and in the Ghent region)
The grain size distribution, heavy minerals and percentages of glauconite of the Lower Eocene sediments in the regions of Tielt and Ghent have been examined. The Lower Paniselian Plb seems to belong to the top of the Upper Ypresian Yd, in the region
of Tielt. The same sediments have been found in borings in Ghent. The Lower Paniselian Plc forms the base of the Paniselian in the region of Tielt| its grain-size and mineralogical characteristics seem to stay constant in the two regions.

Au Canada septentrional, l'introduction d'innovations technologiques telles que fusils, bateaux à moteur et véhicules spécialisés pour régions enneigées, a beaucoup changé l'économie de subsistance traditionnelle des Inuites. Ces innovations ont
