Third World meets First World in the West Coast region of the South Island : possum hunting and the role of social forestry in indigenous forest management

Auteur :
TILLING, A. J.

Description :
The radical change in forest policy has profound implications for the West Coast, and an alternative to the conventional forest management framework is required which recognises the Government's desire to protect the indigenous forest cover, yet at the same time provide for local socioeconomic needs. This is where social forestry can have a role.
