The article deals with the structures of trade in case study Erlangen. The author analyzes the location structures and the effects of macro level, of micro level and the owner managed retail. In summary the opening of the “Arcaden” has affirmative
impacts on the inner city, also for owner managed retail. But in near towns (Herzogenaurach and Fürth) similar projects will be planned. This fact can be a risk for the shopping centre in Erlangen. - (IfL)
