of scholarly geography. Attention is paid to the workings of the BritishAssociation, to geography as a developing subject in Britain and overseas, and to connections between education and citizenship in a period of ‘crisis’ both for geography and the sciences
The book examines the history and geography of science and the science of geography in Britain and the British Empire. It makes an inter-disciplinary contribution to the history and geography of scientific knowledge and to the civic history

In Amman, the landscape of government is being reconfigured via schemes, initiatives and projects. The significance of these arrangements may not be revealed through the examination of the institutions and coalitions associated with Arab regimes
. Focusing on efforts to advance neoliberal modalities of development and government within the municipality, the paper charts global connections giving rise to powerful agencies and considers what they imply for dominant modalities of thinking about

and sediment collected by the Phillips sampler which may be a function of differences in the behavior of geochemical elements associated with the two types of sediment. This work suggests that further research is needed to evaluate the role of the Phillips

Extent of soil erosion and surface runoff associated with large-scale infrastructure development in Fujian Province, China
The AA. examined runoff and sediment transport associated with large-scale construction projects in Fujian Province. Six experimental plots, comprised of four plot types, were designed to mimic typical conditions immediately following disturbance
. It was found that natural vegetative cover reduces both runoff and erosion by approximately 36 and 7457 times over bare ground, and 16 and 1801 times over typically planted grasses, respectively. The increase in erosion associated with the replacement of native
