Description :
In Amman, the landscape of government is being reconfigured via schemes, initiatives and projects. The significance of these arrangements may not be revealed through the examination of the institutions and coalitions associated with Arab regimes. Focusing on efforts to advance neoliberal modalities of development and government within the municipality, the paper charts global connections giving rise to powerful agencies and considers what they imply for dominant modalities of thinking about and acting upon Arab political life.
