Last ice sheet dynamics and deglaciation in the North European Plain

Description :
The combination of geomorphological and geological methods made it possible to reconstruct the pattern of degradation of the last (Poozerje) ice sheet within the territory of Belarus. The phase and oscillatory chains of terminal moraines were distinguished within the known stadial complexes of marginal glacial formations. It was shown that the structure of stadial ice sheets was rather complex and included lobes and tongues of various sizes and configuration, which were largely independent in their evolution.
