Description :
In the highlands of Northern Thailand ferralsols and acrisols associated with deeply weathered regolith profiles are widespread. Of minor importance are shallow cambisols, acrisols and lithosols. The degree of weathering of the different soil types is shown by micromorphological analysis and clay mineralogy. Distribution and origin of the soils are discussed in relation to the relief history.
