Description :
The AA. report on the results of research conducted at the level of individual companies and plants. Across a random sample of manufacturing establishments, they find that the likelihood that managers will adopt new technology is associated with the degree of urbanity of the counties in which their factories are situated. After controlling for size and scale, they find that innovation is not systematically related to the density of clusters of similar businesses. It is difficult to measure the nexus between urbanization and localization processes.
