Long-term impacts of the 1997 floods in the Morava River Basin

Description :
In 1997, disastrous floods have been carried out of the Morava River and other Moravian rivers. The long-term impacts of the flood event on the landscape and population have been examined. The main causes of the flood damage are connected with the formulation of the settlement pattern during industrialization and urbanization. The main geographical methods of flood protection include the relocation of outside inundated areas, technical controle and the adaptation to flood risks too. - (MS)
