A diverse range of approaches and techniques continues to be used to study arid geomorphic processes and landform development. As more is known about the operation of processes, interpretations of the response of landforms to climatic changes become more reliable. This article builds on a number of recent reviews (1987-1992) of processes and landforms in arid regions and on other planets (Mars).
