Nutrient dynamics in southwestern Kattegat, Scandinavia : modelling transport, budget and consequences of reduced terrestrial loads

Description :
The aim of this work is to study to what extent local inputs of N and P affect the nutrient concentrations in a specific study area in the Dannish inner waters. The area chosen is one where the nutrient load is relatively high due to the presence of major cities and industries. An existing hydrodynamical model was applied. 2 scenarios were simulated for 1990, one with the local load of external nutrients and one with a local load reduction according to the national Action Plan for the Aquatic Environment. Discussion of the results.
