Article discusses causes and consequences of Quaternary sea-level changes. It describes all major markers of the process, which have been ascertained with isotopic studies and observations of geomorphologic particularities, with special interest in Adriatic region. Article also presents some results of sonar surveys in the Slovenian sea, which proved to be valuable in research of underwater relief features, formed before the last sea trangression. - (IKR)
