Even in economically prospering cities there are disadvantaged urban neighbourhoods. Irrespective of their location in structurally weak inner cities, in the neighbourhood of derelict industrial spaces or in suburban areas that are further removed from the inner city, these areas are characterized by a weak economic development, an above average level of unemployment and poverty and socio-spatial segregation. - (IfL)
