Based on data from 1989 to 2001 the article analyses the internal migration in Bulgaria and the changed direction of the migration flows. Furthermore a considerable growth of external migrations is indicated and that is a higher rate comparing to the number of immigrants. During the years of transition the internal migration flows have changed their direction. In previous times the migrations from rural areas to towns were dominating, during transformation they turned in direction town-to-town. - (IFL)
