Illustrated by his photograph, his guide book offers a rare legacy into their lives, struggles and joys, in the rural environment of the rapidly developing city of Bangkok. Itineraries for visits and list of festivals are included. Practical information given to the travellers reveals intimate aspects of the every day living conditions of the time. In the conclusion, Antonio praises the enlightened rule and the far sightedness of the King Chulalongkorn (1868-1910) who was developing his kingdom. - (GL)
