The study area is three valley provinces in Santa Cruz Department and three in Cochabamba Department. The focus is on inexpensive vegetative practices, live contour barriers and leguminous cover crops for green manure. Phalaris grass has been the best live barrier and tarwi has been the legume best suited to local conditions. - (SLD)
