Description :
A review of the most important theories accounting for the location of foreign direct investment is followed by a discussion of the development within it of foreign capital. A presentation of the level of incoming FDI into Łódź is than followed by a discussion of the primary measure employed in this work, i.e. Moran's local statistic (of spatial autocorrelation) (Ii), as used to analyse spatial locations for FDI. the analysis makes it clear that the Special Economic Zone has been the main magnet for investment into industry, while FDI of a service-related nature has mainly been deployed in the city centre. - (BJ)
