A preliminary study on the rational allocation of engineering industry between metropolies, the example of Beijing-Tianjin.

Auteur :
CHENG, Xu-an

Description :
Repetitions exist in the machine and engineering industries among the twin cities of Beijing and Tianjin, a problem of industrial location common all over the country. Despite the lack of clear division among different branches of the industry there are still recognisable distinctiveness between heavy, medium, and light engineering. The local resources and historical trends of the cities should be developed further to match specific types with the potential and to promote specialization while making sure complementarity is not lost.
