Description :
It was found out that the moisture equivalent is reached at about 40, 60and90cm above ground-water level in coarse, medium and fine sands, respectively. Threshold values were determined in the range of which the ground-water level may very and yet ensure at the lower boundary of the main root horizon in30cm depth moisture contents between the amount of the moisture equivalent and that at 10% by volume of minimum air content in the soil.
