The pattern of the node-band-structure of the settlement-system proved to be an important and useful basis for a thorough investigation of agglomeration-areas. By the example of the agglomeration HalleLiepzig the node-band-structure is briefly demonstrated, as well as the research on land use, whereby further impulses will be obtained from the interpretation of aerial and satellite photography.
