Late Quaternary seismic stratigraphy of the innershelf seaward of the Tuktoyaktuk Peninsula, Canadian Beaufort Sea
The objectives of this paper are to present an interpretation of the late Quaternary seismic stratigraphy and sedimentary environments of the innershelf of the eastern Beaufort Sea off Tuktoyaktuk Peninsula and to make some preliminary observations
Twenty three bathymetric profiles up to a depth of 28 m were surveyed along and across the western innershelf off the Nile delta during 1919/22, 1976/77 and 1986. Comparison of these profiles establish that there are significant delta-wide changes
stratigraphic, tectonic and seismologic aspects and is crucial for the definition of Late Quaternary Adriatic basin evolution. This work gives a contribution of geomorphological data concerning the inner continental shelf around the islands. - (NF)

The aim of this paper is to investigate various Holocene sediment records from a high-resolution core on the inner eastern Laptev Sea Shelf. The AMS C 14 chronology of the core allows reliable calculation of shelf sediment budgets. Because
of the close land-shelf connection, the data not only provide a detailed history of depositional regime but also contain information of the general paleoenvironmental evolution in this region during the Holocene.
A reported early-man site adjacent to southern Alaska's continental shelf: a geologic solution to an archeologic enigma
Aleutian Range suggested that humans may have inhabited the innershelf environment during the late Pleistocene at times of lowered sea level. Because of the site's potential significance, an interdisciplinary research team relocated and reinvestigated
An extensive ancient archeologic site containing lithic artifacts and associated with mammoth remains was reported at Chinitna Bay, southern Alaska in 1943. The presence of such a site adjacent to the continental shelf at the base of the rugged
Holocene palaeo-environmental changes, central to north Great Barrier Reef inner zone
Fringing reefs and storm ridges, from innershelf sites on the Great Barrier Reef between 14 and 20 5 are examined for holocene sea-level and climatic changes. 45 radiocarbon results show that sea level fell smoothly from + 1 m at 6000 yr B.P
Present-day sedimentary environments in the eastern Weddell Sea confirm low clastic sediment input from wide (> 100 km) ice-shelves. Mainly bioclastic sediments are formed in situ on the inner and shallow central-shelf areas (250 to 350 m water
expansion of grounded ice to the shelf break. Subsequent eustatic rise caused grounded ice to float Frozen-on sediments melted out of the base of the ice, depositing soft pebbly mud above the till-Marine conditions similar to present-day conditions were
A major dredging programme to deepen the shipping channels at the Port of Tauranga has seen some 5 million m3 of mainly sandy sediment dredged from the shipping channels and dumped on the adjacent innershelf. An Environmental Impact Assessment has
At the beginning of the Holocene the inner parts of the Congo shelf were covered by clear and relatively warm waters. About 12,000 yr BP deposits show a high carbonate content. Sedimentation rates have decreased from 2-3 m to 0.07-0.3 m per 1000
