The AA. present a detailed sediment budget from an inner gorge located at the northern foothills of the Central Alps. This budget is calculated using stream sediment 10Be samples collected in the trunk stream (Entlen River, Canton Luzern) and its
tributaries, upstream and downstream of the inner gorge of the Entlen. Landscape partitioning and mass balance calculations are used to quantify denudation rates over the 10Be integration timescale within the inner gorge itself. The results are used to discuss
the acceleration of erosion in response to the glacial inheritance of the landscape, and to infer about the mechanism and timescale of inner gorge formation.
