The coastaldune field of Aquitaine is one of the most extensive in Europe, which was fixed during the 19th century. This paper proposes a new chronology and a morphological classification for the dune systems found in Médoc.

This paper reviews the occurence and morphology of coastaldunes developed in arctic and subarctic environments. The characteristic features of cold-climate coastal aeolian landforms are discussed, and some consideration is given
to the environmental conditions that may explain the different types of dunes found in these environments.

This paper will attempt to identify some underlying principles in coastaldune development and relate these to the opportunity to use mutiple dune features as a discriminatory tool in the general field of neotectonics investigations. Specifically
, through an understanding of the developmental history of coastaldunes, it may be possible to relate multiple episodes of dune development to conditions associated with vertical displacements of the coastal zone.
Geological and palynological investigations of two main dune systems west of Nieuwpoort. The Old Dune system is believed to be older than 4300 B.P. The Young Dune area has a complex history: older dunes (2800-900 B.P.) underneath the Young Dune
system: a subphase 11-14 th century A.D.| a subphase starting at the end of the 14th century (large parabolic dunes burying the former landscape).
This paper documents the morphology and the environmental controls responsible for the formation and evolution of the São Francisco strandplain dune fields with major emphasis on the active dunes. Three morphological provinces in the active coastal
dunes fields are recognized. This study suggests that the aeolian sedimentation is a relatively recent phenomenon at the Quaternary strandplain of the São Francisco River.
Dynamics and management of the coastaldunes of the Landes, Gascony, France

A number of examples is given of relationships between the vegetation complex and the morphology of sand dunes, which can be explained on the basis of landscape history and soil processes : foredune complex, parabolisation of former dune ridges
The AA. focus their attention on the provenance of the inland desert and coastaldunes of the Altar Desert, based on the sedimentology, modal analysis and geochemistry of major and trace elements of the sands. The study uses grain size parameters
and petrographic and geochemical data as a contribution to the origines of dunes in desert and coastaldunes and it provides a new database for the Altar Desert in northwestern Mexico.

The AA. demonstrate the effect seasonal inter-dune freshwater ponds have on the bleaching of the color of sand dunes by iron reduction in the anaerobic conditions they create. By combining spectral measurements of field samples of dune sand together
with the analysis of satellite images covering 3 dune fields in the NE Brazil, they demonstrate its existence in the field. Interpretations of dunes age based on their color should be handled with care.
Peu de datations existent malgré l'abondante littérature. Les dunes les plus anciennes sont d'avant 5 000 BP. On connaît plus d'épisodes d'édification pour les deux derniers millénaires que pour les derniers siècles : A Magillan, six épisodes ont
To understand, and perhaps predict, something of the movement of these barchan sand dunes, the A. undertook a study of the dunes using aerial photographs. This led to a general study of sand movement in the surrounding region.

. Three periods of dune activity have been identified (Foxton, Motuiti and Waitarere phases), the last two of which are believed to have resulted from anthropogenic activities. This coastaldune system is disrupted by the Otaki River and the gravels
Optical dating, sedimentological analysis and soil profile development have been used to develop a chronology for, and an understanding of, the geomorphic evolution of the Holocene coastal plain between Otaki and Te Horo, North Island of New zealand
- (CB)

The coastaldunes on the western coast of Hainan Island are influenced by factors such as onshore winds, sand sources, coastal slopes, rivers, and forest shelter belts. The source of the sand that supplements these dunes, particularly influences
the development pattern. The presence or absence of forest shelter belts also influences deposition and dune development patterns and transformation of dune forms. Coastaldunes and inland desert dunes experience similar dynamic processes, but the former have more
