Answer to the discussion opened by Cui et al. (2005). This communication provides further perspectives to demonstrate that : the dispersion argument is inappropriate for bed material wave evolution; and the continuity equation of the water-sediment
mixture, which has been used by the AA., is correct, and that suggested by Cui et al. (2005) is not justified. Other related aspects are also briefly addressed.
