Age of pre-late-Wisconsin glacial-estuarine sedimentation, Bristol Bay, Alaska
The AA. present a variety of geochronological data suggesting that extensive pre-late-Wisconsin glaciers entered Bristol Bay after the last interglaciation. This age is considerably younger than the most-recent advance of glaciers to the coast
in northwestern Alaska. The new geochronological data further confirm stratigraphic and paleogeographic evidence for contemporaneous advance of pre-late-Wisconsin glaciers from indeppendent northwestern and southeastern source areas into Bristol Bay.
Wisconsin glaciation. The tephras, luminescence ages, and correlations with marine isotope stages provide the geochronological control to place the Togiak Bay section into a global context. The site serves as an important new reference section for late
