monitored the amount of sand moved by the wind. Discrete wind events were identified from regional data, and morphological data for the intervals with the highest onshore and offshore wind speeds are examined in detail.
Relationships between deflation and near surface wind velocity in a coastal dune blowout
The study presented here investigates the relationship between wind velocity at the nearest standard weather station, Valkenburg, and the rate and frequency of deflation in the blowout situated in the coastal dune area of Meijendel, Netherlands
. In addition, this study considers the importance of the wind velocity distribution in determining the pattern of erosion within the blowout. The algal coverage of the soil in the deflation rate is also discussed.

with the present-day wind regime; and 3) to assess the aeolian history of the region by assigning absolute and relative ages to the ventifacts through an examination of surface micromorphology and by dating the rock varnish. Given a distribution of mapped grooves
of known ages, it is intended that this research will enhance the understanding of changing wind flow patterns and intensity in the late Quaternary, and contribute to the broader question of climate change in the region.
Late-Glacial to Holocene changes in winds, upwelling, and seasonal production of the northern California current system
of a climate model based on glacial maximum conditions. There is no compelling evidence for a climatic reversal corresponding to the European Younger Dryas chron. During the early Holocene there may have been years when winds were insufficiently strong

This paper deals with a proposal of constructing a model of formation of the specific Carpathian variety of loesses during the Vistulian. It is based on the observation and measurements of the actual activity of winds, the occurence of blowouts

The AA. use dust records at Mildura, Australia along with observed wind directions during dust storms and events and both local and regional source area rainfall for the period 1960-1989 to test the adequacy of using local rainfall and to show

Remarks on solar radiation, winds (average of 105 foehn days/yr), air temperatures (lowest minima in basin - 40,4 deg. C.); snow cover (290 days on highest peaks); and climatic change. - (DWG)
Key concepts in physical geography, including tectonism, vulcanism, cratering, wind, gradation, and temperature, can be elucidated by comparing the surface environment of Earth with that of other planets in our solar system. - (DWG)
climate influence during the New Glacial lower stand of sea level, large areas of sandy coast were exposed to frequent cyclonic storms. The strengthened winds shifted large volumes of sand gradually to accumulate in huge sand dunes in large scale of coast
This issue contains two papers. 1. Differentiation of thermal conditions in coffee fields under the influence of a shading and wind protecting plants. The study is based on phytoclimatic investigations at coffee plantations in Ea-Kmat (Tay Nguyen
