Investigation on heat and waterbalance in agricultural landscape were carried out of for six years. The impact of plants cover and habitat moisture on structure of heat and waterbalances was studied. Observations of micrometeorological parameters
were carried out during field expedition using the system of automatic measurement and recording. Temporal and spatial characteristics of heat and waterbalances in different ecosystem located in different climatic zones were analysed. - (DG)
Waterbalance computations for larger regions based on calibrated models of gauged catchments
Applied hydrology ; Belgium ; Catchment area;Watershed ; Flanders ; Mathematical model ; Waterbalance ; Water management
In an attempt to explore the boundary conditions for water management in Flanders, waterbalance computations are carried out for the Flemish Region, and for 27 geographical subregions as defined in the General Water Treatment Scheme of the Flemisch
Government. In a first phase more than 50 gauged catchments are studied. The hydrological and hydrometeorological data collected during the past 40 years are incorporated in the study. A lumped system mathematical model, WABAM (WaterBalance Model
), calculating the major terms of the waterbalance on a monthly time base, is calibrated for these catchments. The regional variation in the waterbalance is analysed, which allows for an extrapolation of the results over larger geographical units. - (Les AA.).
A new climate and water-balance station on the Peninsula Skallingen, South West Jutland
Climatic data ; Denmark ; Jylland ; Meteorology ; Microclimate ; Salt marsh ; Waterbalance
In March 1997 an automatic climate and waterbalance station was established on the peninsula Skallingen, 55°30'N, 8°15'E. The data can be retreived by a cellular phone and a modem. The station and selected data are described.
An analysis of the atmospheric waterbalance over the southern hemisphere
Atmosphere ; Atmospheric disturbance ; Atmospheric moisture ; El Niño ; Southern hemisphere ; Waterbalance ; Water cycle
An analysis of the atmospheric waterbalance over the Southern Hemisphere is conducted for the time period June 1980 through May 1984 that includes the 1982-1983 El Niño event. Notable spatial and temporal variations are evident in the moisture flux
divergence fields, in the mean meridional transport of water vapor, and in the moisture content of portions of the tropical atmosphere that are attribuable to the 1982-1983 ENSO event. Estimates of the net gain/loss of atmospheric water are provided for 10
The objective of this study is to establish the climatological classification of Vietnam, based on the structure of heat and waterbalances. Data from 85 meteorological stations, for the period 1960-1975 were taken into account for determining mean
Regionalisation of physically-based waterbalance models in Belgium. Application to ungauged catchments
Belgium ; Catchment area;Watershed ; Model ; Waterbalance ; Water resources
More than 60 catchments from Northern Belgium ranging in size from 16 to 3 160 km2 have been studied by means of a physically-based stochastic waterbalance model. The parameter values derived from calibration of the model were regionally mapped
Assessment and utilization of soil water resources
Agriculture ; China ; Groundwater ; Irrigation ; Northern China ; Water ; Water budget ; Water management ; Water resources
Based on the analyses of water interactions and waterbalance, this paper discusses the issues on the assessment and regulation of soil water resources, which lays the scientific basis for limited irrigation and water-saving agriculture.
Summer waterbalance characteristics of Koryto Glacier, Kamchatka Peninsula, Russia
Asian part of Russia ; Glacial ablation ; Glacier ; Kamchatka ; Meltwater ; Summer ; Water budget
The AA. first determine summer waterbalance of Koryto Glacier based on field observations in 2000, and show that drainage of large quantities of stored water occurred during this summer. Then, they evaluate the relative importance of subglacially
stored water to the total storage change, and estimate the volume of contracted subglacial cavities based on measurements of vertical displacements of the glacier surface. Finally, the AA. estimate the waterbalance during the entire ablation season
, and compare it with waterbalances of glaciers under maritime and other climatic conditions.
Waterbalance and water resources of the Aral Sea basin and its Man-induced changes

. Shows up the tendences of structural changes and efficiency of water resources usage of the region, presents their present-day spacial-geographical peculiarities. On the basis of temporal analysis of waterbalance structure of the Aral Sea, a conclusion
This paper presents natural-climatological characteristics of water resources forming conditions of the Aral sea basin. Analises flow variability correlation of Amy Darya and Syr Darya from the point of their influence on the sea level fluctuation
An analysis of heat and waterbalances in West Africa
By use of empirical models, the required heat-and water-balance parameters were derived from readily available meteorological data. Spatial patterns of the mean annual values of the heat-and water-balance components are discussed, and necessary maps

balance of the Naro Moru Basin and water conservation in the foothills of Kalala and Matanya.―(DWG)
The forest belt between 2 400 and 3 500 m on Mt. Kenya is important for the supply of perennial water to streams and recharge of the groundwater table in the semi-arid plateau below. Two scales are used to study the interrelationships : water

balance components are in water equivalent units.
This report describes a method of using photogrammetric results and compares the estimated mass balances with the independently measured true values. In this report, altitudes are measured from the National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929, and mass
Impacts of human activities on water cycles in Haihe basin
China ; Human impact ; Impact ; Phreatic ground water ; Waterbalance ; Water cycle ; Water pollution ; Water quality ; Water use ; Watershed
This paper studies effects of human activities on water cycle in Haihe basin, focusing on the effects on the key elements of waterbalance and environmental issues caused by unreasonable water development and utilization. River runoff reduction
, groundwater over-exploitation, and water pollution have caused a series of environmental problems in the area. The best way to meet increasing water demands of human activities is to raise efficiency of water resources use. Waste water discharge should

to the importance of properly understanding the waterbalance in the Sahel, and the relationship between biomass production and transpiration is discussed. A method for estimating transpiration from a heterogeneous vegetation cover is tested.
Water-avaibility is an important and often critical factor for plant-production in the Sahel. The most important crop of this region is millet, which has a low water requirement and a high resistance to drought. In this article attention is drawn
