Licenza and Percile villages (comuni) have been used as examples of transforming rural habitations close to the enlarging urban field of a big metropolis. Towards the end of the Tertiary Period, the mountainous landscape of Licenza region had
shifting into urban occupational character, often with the necessity of commuting to Rome, Tivoli and other bigger centres in the valley of the Aniene. The amount of aged and retired people is increasing. Licenza and Percile have become more and more places
