The discussion about correlation of the Ural and Scandinavian glaciations lasted about 100 years. In the course of longterm investigations it has been established that the desintegrated rocks scattered on the surface are derived of Permian
of the Ural. The north and west of the Ural were covered only by the Scandinavian glacier.
Climate cooling and glacier advance during the late Holocene are discussed with case studies from the Causasus, Pamiro-Alai, Tien Shan, Altai, Sayan, Polar Urals, mountains of Yakutia, and Kamtchatka. Palynological and geomorphological data yield
