Searching the way towards sustainability, towns can find good explanations and models in the comprehension of ecosystems functioning. If a town is regarded as an ecosystem with all its components interdependent, it is easier to define its carrying

The Hungarian town, Gyöngyös has always had strong central functions and an extensive catchment area. The research was conducted in accordance to two basic objectives. One of them was to study the town’s complex urban field on the basis of selected
