The seismic refraction reversed profiling technique has been used to investigate the topography of the last interglacial soil (paléosol S1) within the central Chinese Loess Plateau near Xifeng: variations in the depth. Discussion about the results

This paper uses a numerical ice sheet model to investigate the role of topography in influencing ice sheat growth. The model is applied to the maritime, mid-latitutde uplands of Scotland and relies on a series of assumptions about mass balance
, topography, and ice flow. It is driven by an imposed pattern of temperature change. The model is able to predict effectively the extent and thickness of the Loch Lomond ice sheet, using a palaeotemperature curve based on Coleoptera assemblages.

The purpose of this paper is to demonstrate that fractal analysis reveals systematic changes in the appearance of topography and near-surface structure and can be used to quantify systematic interrelationships between them. The study incorporates
fractal analysis of topography, structural cross-sections and reflection seismic data of two area of the North American central Appalachian Mountains : one in the intensely deformed Valley and Ridge province and the other in the relatively undeformed

This paper examines topography-structure relationships in an effort to evaluate tectonic signatures in the landscape, paying special attention to recent tectonic activity. Topography, defined by elevation data, was analysed by both GIS and trend
-surface analysis. Digital data were used to produce a Digital Elevation Model, allowing for rapid characterization of landscapes and the analysis of tectonic structure-topography relationships. By combining slope gradients and slope orientations, the AA
. created maps of topography roughness, in which incised river valleys are well described.

The governing role of topography is stressed in the spatial distribution of salt-affected soils and in the constellation of conditions inducing solonchak formation. Flood-plain geomorphological patterns (natural levees and enclosed depressions

This paper presents a detailed assessment of the distributed monitoring and terrain modelling of river bed topography using a technique that combines rigorous analytical photogrammetry with rapid ground survey. A detailed assessment is undertaken

This paper investigates the spatial pattern of the dominant crops in western Rwanda, a high potential but generally fragile area. Its intent is to explore the relation of crop cover and topography in order to contribute to the development
