During February and March 1982, field work was undertaken along the Gulf of Aden coast of Somalia, between Galweda and Elayu. Marine terraces were examined in the field and later were mapped using aerial photographs. Corals were collected from
marine terraces for uranium-series dating. This paper reports on the results of this research.

Gravelly floodplain deposits and 6 terrace treads in the Waimea Plains, northeast Southland, range in age from ca. 1000 years old to 350,000 yr old. Deposits are progressively more weathered with increasing parent material age. 2 phases
Longitudinal profile evolution of valleys on coastal terraces under the compound influence of eustasy, tectonism and marine erosion

On the coast of Tosa Bay, Southwestern Japan, there is a wide coastal terrace which was formed in the Last Interglacial and has been uplifted to altitudes of 150-200 m above the present sea level by crustal movement. Many valleys dissect the terrace
Quaternary soil chronosequences on terraces of the Susquehanna River, Pennsylvania

Susquehanna River terraces are used to establish time lines along a 150 km reach of the river, from the Lower Piedmont to the edge of the Appalachian Plateau. This is achieved by generating soil chronosequences at 2 locations: Marietta, PA
Quaternary terraces ranging in elevation from 3 m to 51 m above the modern river.

A combination of archaeological evidence, C 14 dates, terrace mapping, heavy metal analysis, grain size analysis and historical maps is used in a detailed analysis of the alluvial history of the River Severn floodplain around Welshpool in mid-Wales
