The study of loess varieties in Hungary is supplemented with the granulometric analyses of key loess profiles. A new system of sedimentological indices has been introduced by a team in the Geographical Research Institute. The index of fitness grade
was first applied in Germany for eolian deposits in Lower Rhine-Vestphalia, while the degree of weathering was employed for loess in China. These indices are combined with conventional sedimentological ones in environmental reconstructions. Index values

the sedimentology and geomorphology of the spit and of the tidal flat behind it (Spurn Bight), and assesses the effects of coastal defences on the nearshore dynamics. The geomorphology and sedimentology of the beaches and the tidal flat were studied to assess

This article provides a critical review of ramparts by considering terminology, their morphology and sedimentological characteristics, possible mechanisms of formation, diagnostic criteria used to differentiate them from other landforms

Biostratigraphical and sedimentological studies of deposits of terraces on Western Sakhalin Island have shown that they were all marine in origin. The upper complex of terraces formed during a period of slow tectonic uplift in this area to 120 m

The aim of this paper is to characterize tsunami deposits in Holocene peat at tidal marshes on northwestern Vancouver Island. The AA. studied the architecture, stratigraphy, and sedimentology of 2 sand sheets at Fair Harbour, Neroutsos Inlet

The morphology, sedimentology and structure of moraines at the margin of an outlet glacier in east Antarctica are described, and contemporary depositional processes in a marine inlet adjacent to the ice margin are examined. Results indicate

This study examines the channel-scale, 3-D structure of a scrolled floodplain of a meandering river, specifically a square kilometer of the North Thompson River Floodplain near Kamloops, British Columbia. Sedimentologic data are acquired largely
This paper presents results of morphological, sedimentological and glaciotectonic analyses of one of these ridges at Obrestad. It is suggested that the ridge has been formed by drumlinization of outwash deposits by a glacier advancing towards
of these areas of Hungary. The sedimentological and faunal investigations of 17 sampling sites in the best-studied depressions of Hungary resulted in the identification of 3 stages of evolution.
The paper presents the preliminary results of geomorphological and sedimentological investigations in the Ncamasere Valley, a seasonally back-flooded tributary of the Okavango River. Studies of organic horizons within cores indicate the differences
