Sex differentials in contemporary mobility and migration patterns in the United States are examined utilizing a decomposition procedure. The analysis reveals that differentials have increased in the recent past. Previous theoretical statements would
predict the narrowing of differentials over time. Thus, this analysis indicates the need to reexamine these theoretical frameworks and the way in which they have been operationalized.

The paper contrasts the implications, for cartel stability, of the non-spatial and spatial models of product differentiation. Using the special case of a linear demand framework, the A. shows that whereas the former approach suggests that cartel
stability is non-monotonic but predictable in the degree of differentiation, the outcome is very much more ambiguous when the latter formulation is employed. He also examines the implications for stablility when demand shocks occur.
