Spatial variations in linear dune morphology and sediments in the Namib sand sea in Palaeoecology of Africa and the surrounding islands. Volume 15. SouthernAfricanSociety for Quaternaryresearch. Proceedings.
Spatial variations in dune height and spacing and in the grain size and sorting parameters of dune crest sands suggest that the Namib sand sea has accumulated principally by the movement of sands from southern and western coastal source areas

Aspects of a suite of Quaternary conglomeratic sediments in the Kuiseb valley, Namibia in Palaeoecology of Africa and the surrounding islands. Volume 15. SouthernAfricanSociety for Quaternaryresearch. Proceedings.
A Quaternary terrace sequence records the initial aggradation within the Kuiseb River and its major tributaries, subsequent to canyon incision. Palaeo-dunes are interbedded with fluvial sediments in the distal reach which implies the presence
of dunes, at least along the southern bank of the lower incised section of the Kuiseb River during that phase of aggradation. The concurrence of similar terrace deposits in other larger rivers flowing across the Namib suggests that some regional control
, possibly related to early Quaternary climatic, tectonic or eustatic changes, has had significant influence on the westward-flowing drainage systems in South West Africa.

Late Cenozoic stratigraphy of the Karonga area in the Malawi Rift in Palaeoecology of Africa and the surrounding islands. Volume 15. SouthernAfricanSociety for Quaternaryresearch. Proceedings.
The Malawi Rift is one of the youngest sections of the African Rift Valley System. The initial rift fill comprises fossiliferous Pliocene sediments. Early sediments in the extreme north were conformably overlain by pyroclastics erupted from
