an abrupt change in plates movement in the North Atlantic occurred as a result of a rift opening between Greenland and Europe. Compression started in the flysch basin. There are some proofs that the beginning of the compression was in the Eocene
, and then compressional deformations migrated outwards across the basin. Those processes were accompanied by Carpathian orogenesis. Compressional deformations continued in subaerally conditions during the last phase. The upper limit of the orogenesis migrated outwards
across the Carpathians. This agress with the diachronous scratching off deposits from a subducted plate. The orogenesis in the Carpathians occuried interruptedly and so-called orogenic phases alternated with periods of calm. But the results of an analysis
