- Pleistocene tectonics and shorelines in Almeria (Spain)
- A close relationship between tectonic activity and the number and geometric disposition of Quaternary shoreline features is recognized on the littoral of Almeria. The selected areas are crossed by accidents functioning during the Quaternary
- Begriff und Wesen des Strandes als geomorphologische und naturräumliche Erscheinung. (The coastal shoreline as a geomorphological and regional phenomenon)
- A new definition of term coastal shoreline is given which will include all features of a seashore such as location, substance, processes, minor units, environmental effects, and technogenous facilities, and in this way considers the coastline
- Rapid uplift, stepped marine terraces and raised shorelines on the Calabrian coast of Messina Strait, Italy
- A series of 26 Quaternary shorelines, stepped between present sea level and 556 m , are studied. They are part of the flight of marine terraces of the Aspromonte region. In a region where tectonics is particularly active (earthquakes occur
- frequently), it is important to determine the relationships between this flight of shorelines, the glacio-eustatic oscillations and tectonics.
- Digital analysis of shoreline change. A preliminary case study of Te Puru in the Coromandel Peninsula
- Aerial photography ; Automated mapping ; Coastal dynamics ; Coastal environment ; Coastal erosion ; Digitization ; Geographical information system ; New Zealand ; North Island ; Photointerpretation ; Sea level ; Shoreline
- This paper examines the potential of digital mapping techniques for the analysis and mapping of shoreline change. The discussion is illustrated trough a case-study of the coastal environment of Te Puru in the Coromandel Peninsula.
- The impact of sea-level rise on mangrove shorelines
- Further changes in the area covered by mangroves are to expected if the sea rises at the rates anticipated as a result of the greenhouse effect. The exact response of a mangrove coastline will depend upon shoreline topography, sources of sediment
- , rates of sediment supply, and the rate of sea-level rise. The stratigraphy and chronology of Holocene deposits on mangrove shorelines allow reconstruction of the way that mangrove forests have responded to rising sea level in the past, and thus provide
- Lake Manly(?) shorelines in the Eastern Mojave Desert, California
- During pluvial periods of the late Quaternary, Death Valley was occupied by a lake, called Lake Manly. The most prominent shoreline of this lake is that of the Blackwelder stand, 90 m above sea level. The Mesquite Spring and Salt Spring Hills
- shorelines were probably formed by the Blackwelder stand and subsequently displaced , tectonically, due to transpression in the northeastern Mojave Desert and NW-SE extension across Death Valley. This tectonic regime would result in subsidence of Death Valley
- Coastal processes, relict shorelines and changes in sea level on selected mid-and low-latitude coasts in Shorelines and isostasy.
- Balaton Lake ; Geomorphology ; History ; Hungary ; Lake ; Legislation ; Shoreline
- This paper analyses the history and the present state of shoreline control of Lake Balaton. The first shoreline control activities around Lake Balaton commenced during the last years of the 19th century. In recent years great amount of legislation
- deals with the natural and artificial shaping of the shoreline of the Lake, and as a result a great number of studies and plans were created. According to the A., urgent actions need to be taken to stop illegal use of the shore (in filling, construction
- Computer models of shoreline configuration : headland erosion and the graded beach revisited in Models in geomorphology.
- The technique of numerical models of shoreline changes is illustrated by a model of headland erosion in which the sand is transported to an adjacent embayment. This leads to a consideration of the graded shoreline, whose curvature in plan view

- Deposits of a transgressive-phase Lake Bonneville stillstand or oscillation are found just below the elevation of the regressive-phase Provo shoreline at numerous exposures throughout the Bonneville basin. Existence of these sub-Provo shoreline
- deposits provides a new explanation for the massive size of Provo deposits and erosional landforms, which can no longer be explained by a long stillstand at the Provo shoreline. Provo coastal landforms are large because they are superimposed on sub-Provo
- landforms. Results also help to clarify divergent interpretations regarding the relative age of the Provo shoreline.
- Highest pluvial-lake shorelines and Pleistocene climate of the Western Great Basin
- Shoreline altitudes of several pluvial lakes in the western Great Basin of North America record successively smaller lakes from the early to the late Pleistocene. This decrease in lake size indicates a long-term drying trend in the regional climate
