The basic structure of a model for forecasting the development of settlement areas according to the status-quo principle has already been developed. It is based on three partial models which forecast in detail the new utilisation of areas
in the housing, economic and traffic sectors. These three sectors account for most of the future development of settlement areas. Hypotheses and assumptions about the development of the fundamental model parameters are discussed. - (TH)
