The Sarrét (Marshy Meadows) have evolved in the middle of the Great Hungarian Plain at the lower reaches of the rivers Berettyo and Sebes Koros, on a typical depression area. Settlements of this area might be devided into groups on the basis
of demographic and settlement characteristics and the homogenity of the different groups still indicate a common development pattern of the past centuries. (CK).
The population of farms on outlying areas is still diminishing however the farms situated near the towns and the inner zone of farms need an extra state control for settlement development| their maintenance and development is justified. (C. Kiricsi).
. Commutation helped spatial links widen. Income from double /main and part-time jobs/ sources retains population. The places of villages in settlement network must be strengthened. (DLO).
