A description and an evaluation of William Gerard DeBrahm's 1770 chart of northern Biscayne Bay, Florida, are presented for the purpose of reconstructing that region's natural environment in the 1770s period. As finally drawn, the chart exhibits
barrier section to virtually all of northern Biscayne Bay and its shoreline, thus providing a good environmental data base for that region in that period.
