According to ecological and serio-economic conditions, basic characteristics of cotton production and current state of distribution, China's cotton cultivated areas are divided into 5 major regions and 12 sub-regions. The present level
and potentials of cotton production of the regions are discussed and suggestions made for rationalising the future allocation system of cotton production. (TNC).

Proposes modifications to the 1959 scheme of Comprehensive regionalization of China, 1st draft. The three first order regions of the old scheme is retained. They are subdivided into 14 physical belts based on temperature, while landscape
