The purpose of this study was to measure the marine reservoir age directly and test if these rapid fluctuations had any influence on the reservoir age of the Norvegian Sea. The main result is that the reservoir age for the Bølling-Allerød interval
was 380 yr on the western coast of Norway, close to the present value, and considerably less than the Youger Dryas reservoir age.
